Developed by Four Diegos Media for Cricket Australia, this initiative involves Cricket Australia introducing an ‘ASHES’ themed unit of work for schools that is designed to build awareness and promote and brand the 2006 – 2007 ASHES series in respective Territories, States, regions and communities.

THE ASHES curriculum initiative is a 4–6 week in-classroom unit of work that is designed to:

  • be taught in upper primary and/or lower secondary schools in Australia in the lead up to and throughout THE ASHES series in Australia in 2006 – 2007.
  • meet relevant curriculum framework learning outcomes across a variety of key learning areas such as Mathematics, English, History, Geography, Social Education, Art and Design, Health and Fitness, Media Studies, LOTE and Information Technology in schools.
  • be taught in conjunction with important LIVING IN HARMONY themes such as equality, fairness and respect. It can also be translated in languages other than English (Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese, French etc), so as to include a unique component in LOTE classroom learning in both countries.
